Nathan Fillion as Captain Malcolm Reynolds
Captain Tightpants himself, Nathan Fillion, has kept busy since his days as a Firefly smuggler. After the series' untimely cancellation, he landed the lead role in the TV show Castle, where he played Richard Castle, a mystery novelist who consults with the NYPD. The series ran for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.
Since then, Fillion has reprised his role as Mal Reynolds in the Firefly movie Serenity, and has also appeared in various other TV shows and movies, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Slither, and Much Ado About Nothing. He currently stars as John Nolan in the ABC series The Rookie.
Gina Torres as Zoe Washburn
Gina Torres, who played the fierce and loyal Zoe Washburn, has had a successful career post-Firefly. She landed a leading role in the TV series Alias and later appeared in 24, The Shield, and Suits. Torres also reprised her role as Zoe in the Firefly movie Serenity.
In addition to her acting career, Torres has also ventured into producing. She executive produced the TV series Animal Kingdom and Ironside. Most recently, she starred in the TV series Pearson and The Deep End.
Alan Tudyk as Hoban "Wash" Washburn
Alan Tudyk, who played the lovable and quirky pilot Hoban "Wash" Washburn, has kept busy in both TV and movies since Firefly. He reprised his role as Wash in the Firefly movie Serenity and has since appeared in numerous TV shows and movies, such as Dollhouse, Suburgatory, Powerless, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Tudyk also lent his voice to several animated series, including Futurama, American Dad!, Big Mouth, and Harley Quinn. He currently stars in the Apple TV+ series Foundation.
Morena Baccarin as Inara Serra
Morena Baccarin, who played the elegant and mysterious Inara Serra, has had a successful career since Firefly. She reprised her role as Inara in the Firefly movie Serenity and has since appeared in various TV shows and movies, such as V, Homeland, Gotham, The Flash, and Deadpool.
Baccarin currently stars in the TV series The Boys as Queen Maeve. She also has a recurring role in the TV series Firefly and The Mandalorian.
Jewel Staite as Kaylee Frye
Jewel Staite, who played the sweet and talented mechanic Kaylee Frye, has kept busy in both TV and movies since Firefly. She reprised her role as Kaylee in the Firefly movie Serenity and has since appeared in various TV shows and movies, such as Stargate Atlantis, The Listener, Supernatural, and Longmire.
Staite also lent her voice to several animated series, including Avengers Assemble, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and DC Super Hero Girls. She currently stars in the TV series The Expanse.
Adam Baldwin as Jayne Cobb
Adam Baldwin, who played the rough and tumble mercenary Jayne Cobb, has kept busy in both TV and movies since Firefly. He reprised his role as Jayne in the Firefly movie Serenity and has since appeared in various TV shows and movies, such as Chuck, The Last Ship, The Purge, and Doctor Who.
Baldwin also has a recurring role in the TV series Arrow as Davis Bloome. He currently stars in the TV series The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
Sean Maher as Simon Tam
Sean Maher, who played the brilliant and conflicted doctor Simon Tam, has kept busy in both TV and movies since Firefly. He reprised his role as Simon in the Firefly movie Serenity and has since appeared in various TV shows and movies, such as The 4400, Pushing Daisies, Warehouse 13, and The Originals.
Maher also lent his voice to several animated series, including Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Young Justice, and Justice League Action. He currently stars in the TV series The Flash.
Summer Glau as River Tam
Summer Glau, who played the enigmatic and powerful River Tam, has kept busy in both TV and movies since Firefly. She reprised her role as River in the Firefly movie Serenity and has since appeared in various TV shows and movies, such as The 4400, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Arrow, and Alcatraz.

Ron Glass as Derrial Book
Ron Glass, who played the wise and spiritual Derrial Book, passed away in 2016. Before his passing, he reprised his role as Book in the Firefly movie Serenity and appeared in various TV shows and movies, such as Barney Miller, MASH, Designing Women, and Cheers*.
Glass also lent his voice to several animated series, including Batman: The Animated Series, Gargoyles, and The Venture Bros. He will be forever remembered as the beloved Derrial Book.
